AMD Leaks Codename for Next-Generation ZEN 6 CPU
SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio - An engineer at Advanced Micro Devices, a global leader in the semiconductor industry, reportedly leaked on Linkedin yesterday their next-generation ZEN 6 cores will be codenamed Morpheus.
Morpheus636, widely known as “The Based One,” stated on Discord that he was “honored to be recognized by AMD,” and thanked the company for the recognition.
The AMD engineer has since removed the information from their Linkedin profile.
Morpheus636 believes his spirit represents “the forward-thinking, fan-centric approach that AMD has been known for,” he stated.
Tom’s Hardware reports that ZEN 6 Morpheus cores will likely leverage a 2nm manufacturing process. CPUs featuing cores with such a based name are unlikely to launch before 2025, based on their absence from curent AMD roadmaps.
